The Spacesuit Backpack

The backpack was designed by UND with system involvement from the NDSU and TMCC teams.

The backpack houses:
  • A Bluetooth server for wireless transmission to both base station and suit bio-sensors

  • A high-power transmitter

  • The data analysis package of the bio-sensor system. The life support monitoring system has been developed by NDSU and can track body temperature, temperature 'in-suit, heart rate, respiration rate, carbon dioxide level, oxygen level and humidity.
